Fodor’s Oregon Says Bells Up Tastings “Like Sitting Down With Old Friends”

Fodor’s Travel, publishers of both printed books and online travel guides, recently released their 2023 Oregon guidebook.

Writer Margot Bigg, who’s based in the Portland area, visited us in the spring as she was researching the updated version of the 2023 publication. We were honored to see that she graciously included us in the print edition!

Here’s what she had to say:

If you’re after a wine-tasting experience that feels less like a formal presentation of wines and more like sitting down with old friends, Bells Up is the place to go. It’s run by a husband-and-wife team—Sara and Dave Specter—who personally lead wine tastings, one group at a time. Along with the expected Pinot Noirs and Blancs, Bells Up offers Syrah, Cabernet, and the occasional lesser-produced varietal, such as including Seyval Blanc, and each wine is named for a piece of classical music, which—like the name of the winery itself—is inspired by Dave’s love for the French Horn… Reservations essential.

Ready to enjoy your own “visit with old friends” tasting experience?

We’re accepting reservations at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. seven days a week. Contact us at 503-537-1328 to book your tasting with Dave.
