Plowing along…

This is what passes for big excitement here on the farm. Gordon, our vineyard manager extraordinaire, swung by to mow down the weeds and plow the currently vacant 9 acres earlier this week.

And here he is far away, raising a cloud of dust (reminded us of Pigpen from Charlie Brown):


In addition to making the property look nicer than it did when covered in weeds (something our neighbors no doubt appreciate), Gordon’s also prepping the soil to grow grain this fall. As we phase-in the vineyard planting, he’ll continue to grow grain on the “empty” spaces so we can maximize the land use as a farm.
