We got swept up in barn renovation projects and then 2014 harvest (a brief recap coming soon), but we’re finally ready to offer a preview of our upcoming lineup of wines. We’re still refining the details of our Fanfare Club (Bells Up Winery’s wine club), but as we just received approval of our labels for the 2013 reds, now seems a good time to share a few tasting notes…
We’ll be opening up pre-sales on these five wines in the next week or so, and they will be available for pick-up or delivery in Spring 2015. Stay tuned for more details.
2013 Titan | Willamette Valley Pinot Noir
A classic Oregon-style pinot noir, Titan combines Chehalem Mountain Pommard with Yamhill-Carlton 115 and 777 clones. On the nose: bright bing cherry, pomegranate and warm toast. On the palate: clean, red fruit harmonizes with supple tannins. 200 cases produced.
2013 Villanelle | Willamette Valley Reserve Pinot Noir
A special limited edition, Villanelle is distinguished by a restrained elegance, mingling 75% Chehalem Pommard with 25% Yamhill-Carlton 115 clone in neutral oak. On the nose: fresh, red fruit with subtle orange peel, rose petal and sandalwood. On the palate: a balanced, lingering finish with tension and complexity. ONLY 25 cases produced.
2013 Firebird | Walla Walla Valley AVA Syrah
From Milton-Freewater, Oregon. On the nose: blackberry, peppery spice and vanilla toast. On the palate: huckleberry and bramble mingle with spice and wood tones. 65 cases produced.
2014 Rhapsody | Willamette Valley Pinot Blanc
Now in production, and offering whispers of pineapple and citrus. ~100 cases to be produced.
2014 Prelude | Willamette Valley Rosé of Pinot Noir
Now in production, after 30 hours on skin, the 115 clone yielded an incredible shade of pink. Showing hints of grapefruit and floral tones. ~60 cases to be produced.
