Bells Up featured at 503 Uncorked on Wednesday, May 24, 2017

On Wednesday, May 24, 2017—from 6:00–8:00 p.m.—Bells Up’s wines will be featured at 503 Uncorked’s “Wednesday Winery Night,” a weekly event that showcases local producers. The wine bar is located in Sherwood, Oregon’s historic Old Town district at 22578 SW Washington Street. During the event, Bells Up’s winemaker and owner Dave Specter will pour complimentary tastings of three wines:

The three wines will also be available for purchase by the glass or bottle, with a special 15% discount on bottles purchased to take home. 503 Uncorked’s owner Deb Yannariello has primarily featured wines made in the 503 region of Oregon, paired with light fare.

“Our guests love Wednesday Winery Night because it gives them a chance to learn more about different local wineries by personally mingling and chatting with winemakers like Dave,” Yannariello says. “My plan for 503 Uncorked was to create an atmosphere that enhances connections, including helping our patrons build relationships with local labels like Bells Up.”

Located  in the Chehalem Mountains AVA, Bells Up Winery is at 27895 NE Bell Road at the intersection of Zimri Drive. In its third year of operation, the label is one of Newberg’s newest micro-boutique wineries—making approximately 400 cases annually—and is always open by appointment.

Bells Up composes handcrafted, classically-styled Oregon Pinot Noir with grapes sourced primarily from micro-growers located on the northern side of the Willamette Valley. It also offers a small selection of other Oregon-grown and produced varietals. The winery name refers to a dramatic moment in classical music in which French horn players lift their instruments’ bells upward to project their sound with maximum intensity. Specter, a French horn player who performed in bands and symphonic groups throughout high school and college, says the winery is his “Bells Up” moment.
