Lueckes luck into a barrel tasting…

It is often said that timing is everything, and a very fortunate bit of timing allowed one of Dave’s former colleagues from Ernst & Young and his extended family to participate in our first barrel tasting.

We periodically sample from each of our barrels to see how the wines are developing and our scheduled sampling time just happened to coincide with a visit from the Luecke family, whose members came from different parts of the country to spend a few days together at the end of March, tasting wine throughout the Willamette Valley.

This bit of kismet allowed us to give them a very rare behind-the-scenes look of a start-up operation. We’re glad to report that our amazing winemaker Erica has balanced nursing our wines along with her new baby, and both are coming along nicely!

A fortunate coincidence of timing meant we got to share a scheduled barrel tasting with one of Dave's former colleagues and his extended family during their vacation in the Willamette Valley.
