Vineyard walk-through, grape check at Tonnelier Vineyard.

Tonnelier Vineyard's Yamhill-Carlton AVA sign.

Tonnelier Vineyard is in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA.

A week ago—Thursday, July 21 to be precise—winemaker Dave did a walk through at Mike and Julie Slater’s Tonnelier Vineyard in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA. We’ve been sourcing our Pinot noir Dijon Clones 115 and 777 from Tonnelier since 2013. (You may recall, our 2014 Villanelle Reserve Pinot Noir now carries the Tonnelier name as a single vineyard designation wine.)

Since unfortunately we weren’t able to take anyone else along, we thought you’d like a photo-tour of what we saw. Here’s a few snapshots of what saw that day.

Excellent fruit-set and nicely managed fruiting zone.

Excellent fruit set on both the 115 and 777 pinot noir grapes in 2016.

Veraison! (When the grapes begin to turn purple.)

Veraison at Tonnelier, July 2016.

We found one cluster in each of the 115 and 777 with veraison.

Excellent vineyard condition (not a surprise).

Beautifully maintained Tonnelier Vineyard.

Just look at that gorgeous Tonnelier Vineyard.

An amazing view (as always).

Gorgeous day at Tonnelier.

The view at Tonnelier never disappoints.
