1 Wine Dude Reviews 2018 Helios Estate Seyval Blanc

Joe Roberts, also known as 1 Wine Dude, created his eponymous blog back in 2007 to proffer wine reviews to intermediate level wine lovers—the regular folks who aren’t newbies, but aren’t sommeliers either.

Joe writes both full-blown and mini wine reviews because, well, he samples a lot of wine. In fact, he prefers to say he tastes “a bunch-o-wine (technical term for more than most people).” To keep up with the cases of samples arriving at his door daily, he shares some wine reviews in a mini-format.

According to Joe, the mini-reviews “are meant to be quirky, fun, and (mostly) easily-digestible reviews of (mostly) currently available wines… and are presented links to help you find them, so that you can try them out for yourself.”

He reviewed the 2018 Helios Estate Seyval Blanc sample we shared with him earlier in May. Here’s what he had to say:

2018 Bells Up ‘Helios’ Estate Seyval Blanc (Chehalem Mountains): Inaugural effort that’s punchy, grounded, and not fooling around. $38 B+

Joe Roberts, 1WineDude.com, May 6, 2019

For Joe, wines rated “B- to B+” equate to “An Above Average to Very Good wine, usually fairly priced and worth a buy.” In numerical score-speak, he says that range is equivalent to “85 – 92 From ‘this is pretty solid’ to ‘I could drink me a lot of this vino.'”

If YOU would like to drink a lot of this vino, you’ll have to be a member of Fanfare Club, as 2018 Helios is a Fanfare Club exclusive wine. Contact us to find out how you can become a member and get your hands on the Willamette Valley’s first and only Seyval Blanc!
