International Wine Report Reviews Five New Bells Up Releases

Recently, Senior Editor Jeremy Young of International Wine Report reviewed five of Bells Up Winery’s newest wine releases. All of the wines were—for the first time—entirely sourced from our estate vineyard property.

Jeremy, who joined International Wine Report’s editorial team in 2020, is based in Seattle. His beat covers wines from Washington, Oregon, and Santa Barbara, as well as the occasional Italian and German vintage. Jeremy earned a WSET3 with Distinction from the WSET Wine and Spirits Education Trust. Having visited almost every major wine region in the world helps inform his perspective as he reviews wines.

Jeremy Young’s Reviews of Bells Up’s Wines

Overall, Jeremy had high praise—and high scores—for each of the five wines he sampled. Scores ranged from 92 to 94, which we’re thrilled about. Here’s what he had to say:

BELLS UP Pinot Blanc, Chehalem Mountains ‘Rhapsody’ 2024

The 2024 Bells Up Rhapsody Pinot Blanc, Chehalem Mountains, opens with a shimmering lemon-gold core and high-toned aromatics of honey-coated pears and dusty herbs. This full-bodied white is remarkably decadent on the palate, balancing its rich texture with high acidity that drives through notes of golden pears, bitter lemony herbs, and a persistent touch of sweet spice. Drink 2026-2032. 92 Points.

BELLS UP Pinot Noir, Chehalem Mountains ‘Jupiter’ 2022

The 2022 Bells Up Jupiter Pinot Noir, Chehalem Mountains, presents a brilliant jeweled ruby core that transitions to a delicate pink rim. The aromatics are immediately arresting, offering a complex bouquet of crushed purple flowers and Bing cherries intertwined with notes of strawberry fruit leather and warm Christmas spice. On the medium-bodied palate, a savory character emerges through scorched orange peel, lemony herbs, and refined black tea tones, all supported by precision acidity and a finish defined by a unique interplay of earth and spice. Drink 2026-2034. 93 Points.

BELLS UP Pinot Noir, Chehalem Mountains ‘Maestro Reserve’ 2022

The 2022 Bells Up Maestro Reserve Pinot Noir, Chehalem Mountains, displays a medium ruby-orange core that transitions into a delicate, light pink rim. The aromatics are immediately expressive, leading with an aromatic pop of gingerbread spice before unfurling into layers of mountain blueberries, candied huckleberries, potpourri, and warm summer spices. On the medium-bodied palate, the blue-fruited profile deepens alongside notes of burnt orange peel and refined spice, all held together by moderate acidity and a finish that lingers with impressive length. Drink 2026-2034. 93 Points.

BELLS UP Pinot Noir, Chehalem Mountains ‘Titan’ 2022

The 2022 Bells Up Titan Pinot Noir, Chehalem Mountains, presents a classic brick red core that lightens toward a delicate pink rim. The bouquet is highly expressive, featuring an intricate layer of dusty rose petals and ripe red plum accented by cedary herbs and a lift of pink peppercorn. On the medium-to-full-bodied palate, the wine shifts toward a deeper profile of blue fruit and damp earth, complemented by savory umami tones and a bright hint of blood orange essence. Structured with moderate-plus acidity, it maintains exceptional focus through a lengthy, evolving finish. Drink 2026-2036. 94 Points.

BELLS UP Pinot Noir, Chehalem Mountains ‘Candide Reserve’ 2022

The 2022 Bells Up Candide Reserve Pinot Noir, Chehalem Mountains, displays a medium ruby-orange core that transitions to a delicate, light pink rim. The aromatics lead with an inviting pop of sweet spice before evolving into a layered bouquet of mountain marionberries, sweet raspberries, potpourri, and warm allspice. On the medium-bodied palate, the fruit profile leans into redder tones, highlighted by elegant floral notes across the mid-palate and supported by moderate-plus acidity. The experience concludes with a long, savory finish that reinforces its complex structural character. Drink 2026-2034. 93 Points.
