Winery Reflections Declares 2022 Jupiter “Outstanding”

Winery Reflections’ Nathan and Courtney Marton have released their review of Bells Up’s 2022 Jupiter Estate Pinot Noir on their Instagram feed. This husband-and-wife duo of wine reviewers—based in Southern California—always have the kindest things to say about our wines. They’ve even made the trip to visit us in person twice, with plans to return again.

Here’s what they thought of 2022 Jupiter:

Couple standing in a vineyard

Arrestingly expressive and engaging flutters of crisp Bing cherry, freshly-picked pomegranate, navel orange, and wild blueberry dance with supple yet ethereal delight as dainty floral tones of rose petal and hibiscus gleefully enhance aromatics. Hints of pine needle and morel mushroom gently reveal a range of clean forest tones overlaid by subtle baking spices of cardamom, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Notes of iron and broken-in leather softly expose intriguing savory underpinnings as glimmers of coastal fog and stony minerality provide a delicate glimpse of terroir.

Gorgeously complex, characterful, and layered on both the nose and the palate with impressive depth and precision present despite enticing weightlessness; exhibiting a serious and structured yet approachable presentation that evolves in the glass with each passing minute. Medium bodied with elevated yet soft tannin backed by bright acidity. This 2022 “Jupiter” Estate Pinot Noir by Bells Up Winery is an age-worthy and impressive red from Oregon’s Chehalem Mountains.

Oregon’s Willamette Valley has long been lauded as one of the world’s premier terroirs for the production of high quality Pinot Noir, and yet the quality of wine this esteemed region is putting out today continues to get better every year. This bottling, crafted by Bells Up Winery using 100% Pinot Noir grown at their Chehalem Mountains estate property, effortlessly proves just how compelling Oregon Pinot can be.

This bursts from the glass with a cornucopia of fresh red, blue, and citrus fruits enhanced by pretty floral character, attractive forest notes, well-integrated barrel spice, and pristine earthy charms. Although delicious today this is a wine built to age and should evolve positively in the cellar for at least a decade. Outstanding.

The 2022 Jupiter was recently released and is available to sample during a private wine tasting hosted by Winemaker Dave, exclusively for one group at a time.
