Great Northwest Wine Deems 2019 Titan Pinot Noir “Excellent!”

Great Northwest Wine’s review team — led by President and CEO Eric Degerman — recently sampled and posted their review of our now sold-out 2019 Titan Willamette Valley Pinot Noir.

Degerman, who has been writing about Pacific Northwest wines (including Oregon, Washington, British Columbia and Idaho) for more than 35 years, recently began publishing a print magazine under the Great Northwest Wine moniker as well. He and his colleagues have reviewed many of our wines over the years, most recently the 2020 Jupiter Estate Pinot Noir, which they rated “Outstanding!”.

Here’s the Great Northwest Wine review of our 2019 Titan release:

The Specters’ confidence in their Jory-influenced estate plantings of Pommard is rewarded as they included the sixth-leaf Pinot Noir into the Titan blend (30%) for the first time – with the balance being Dijon 115 and 777 from Tonnelier Vineyard for one last time. (The vineyard was sold in 2020.)

It’s a perfumy nose featuring strawberry, dusty raspberry, facial powder and delicate barrel spice from 12 months in nearly 40% new French oak. There’s impressive finesse on the entry to the palate with dark red fruit — Bing cherry and ripe red currant – and a gentle push of boysenberry. Light notes of allspice, Herbes de Provence and a lingering Montmorency cherry finish provide pleasure.

Rating: Excellent! 92 points

Although the 2019 Titan has been sold out for a few months now, we have the 2020 Titan available (and just blended the 2021 vintage this week!). Call 503-537-1328 or email us and we’ll be happy to set some aside for you to sample and/or pick up in person, or for immediate shipping.
