Thanks go to Cori Solomon of The Written Palette for including our 2017 Firebird Summit View Vineyard Syrah from the Walla Walla Valley AVA on her list of Best Wines of 2019, in the Rhone Varietals and Blends section. Here’s what she had to say:

Bells Up 2017 Firebird Summit View Vineyard Walla Walla Valley Syrah: Named after Igor Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite, one finds a high elevation cool-climate Syrah. Bells Up created this Syrah like a Pinot Noir, giving the wine a lighter texture, making the wine an alternative for Pinot Noir drinker or for those who like varieties other than Pinot Noir. The wine showcases dark fruit with hints of white pepper rather than the typical spicy black pepper finish identified with Syrah.

Although the 2017 vintage of Firebird is long sold out, we will be releasing the 2018 version in April. Currently available as futures, a minimum of six bottles of 2018 Firebird can be purchased in advance at the current $40/bottle price (Fanfare Club discounts apply). Upon release, however, 2018 Firebird will be priced at $48/bottle. So now is the best time to lock in your order before the wine is released. Call or email Dave or Sara to purchase 2018 Firebird Futures.
