Napa-resident, wine connoisseur, travel writer and tastemaker Kelly Mitchell—a.k.a. The Wine Siren and wine, food and lifestyle writer for The Huffington Post—recently featured us and our 2017 Candide Nemarniki Vineyard Reserve Pinot Noir. Mitchell, who visited us spontaneously a few years ago, has been so kind to (and supportive of) us since that chance meeting that we occasionally send her samples when we think we have something special she might like.
And like it she did, praising the 2017 Candide for being “the stuff that Pinot dreams are made of. Music to my lips.” Here, along with her magnificent photos, is what she wrote:
To this exotic beauty! And never knowing what the future has in store for you.
I first discovered Bells Up several years ago when a music loving newly anointed winegrowing family reached out. I was in Oregon with a five day itinerary and little time for breathing.
I was preparing to visit the region of Chehalem Mountains which I knew very little about. An itinerary already mapped out and not a lot of room for unplanned visits. Sometimes the universe has other plans.
Driving felt like a dream. My first snow fall after 36 years living on an island. Snow was gently cascading down before me, dotting the landscape with delicate white accents. I had almost reached my destination. Then I saw the sign: Bells Up Winery. Who in a million years would’ve thought I would’ve stumbled into their winery on the way to another pre-planned months ago?
It was a sign. Spent some time with this lovely Winemaking family and discovered their love for music and wine.
Today their winery is thriving and has expanded.
This bottle of their 2017 Candide Reserve Pinot Noir is the stuff that Pinot dreams are made of. Music to my lips.
Grateful for the serendipitous adventure to their winery and for this lustful sip of freshness in a distinctly beautiful Pinot Noir. #love Worth the visit!
While this is wonderful news and we were thrilled to hear Kelly enjoyed the 2017 Candide so much, this wine sold out a couple of weeks ago (promptly after it was featured in Forbes).
HOWEVER, the 2018 Candide will be released this month and available for purchase. To reserve your bottles, call 503-537-1328 or email info@bellsupwinery.com and we will be happy to set some aside for you.
