Allison and Chris Wallace, travel and wine writers who author the AdVINEtures blog, recently posted a video recap of their journey through the Willamette Valley. (that’s them, pictured with Winemaker Dave, in the photo above). They previously featured us in a lengthy post, reviewing the experience and several wines.
It was lots of fun to see their final compilation video. Dave and Bells Up are featured from the 1:15 to 1:45 mark, below, talking about our Helios Seyval Blanc from our estate vineyard—the first and only planting in the Willamette Valley and only the second in Oregon.
Here’s what they thought about the 2021 Helios:
2021 Helios: This wine is made from the aromatic grape variety Seyval Blanc. This reminded us of a Sauvignon Blanc with its grapefruit flavours or perhaps a Grüner Veltliner with its body and high acid combination. Hints of lemon/lime infuse the aromatic profile. Flavours of pear and golden delicious apple gain added complexity from the mineral streak on the finish. Crisp and refreshing. Very Good+
