Bells Up Winery Profiled by Washington Wine Blog

Dr. Owen Bargreen, founder and editor of Washington Wine Blog and a certified Level 2 Sommelier by the Court of Master Sommeliers, recently featured a profile of Bells Up and our most recent wine releases.

The winemaking style is intriguing and is not meant for those who prefer bolder Oregon Pinot Noirs. There is a move towards elegance and delicate red fruits in Dave’s Pinot Noirs. Even in warm vintages such as 2014 and 2015 Dave has crafted extremely translucent and lighter style Pinots. They are beautiful wines that maintain good acidity and a soft texture. Their new release Pinot Noir, the 2016 Bells Up ‘Titan’ Pinot Noir (WWB, 91) is a really striking example of the AVA, showing a really nice mouthfeel and texture that connects with the red fruit and citrus flavors.

Additionally, he recaps his recent reviews and scores of Bells Up wines, including:

  • The sold-out 2017 Prelude Estate Rosé of Pinot Noir (90 points)
  • The 2016 Titan Pinot Noir that was released last fall (91 points)
  • The nearly sold-out 2015 Titan Pinot Noir (91 points)

Thank you Owen! It was an honor to be your first post of the New Year!
