See How Dave Puts Together Each Wine: Blending Panel Video Feature by Urban Bliss Life

It’s August, and that means it’s about time for Winemaker Dave and Consulting Winemaker Erica to work on putting together the wines in the barrels into finished blends for wine in the bottle.

Last August, one of our favorite local bloggers — Marlynn Schotland of Urban Bliss Life — hung out with them while they used every glass in the tasting room to figure out just the right ratios of each of the 2017 wines. We do this in advance of harvest so that we have plenty of time to move the finished blends into tanks so the flavors can meld together prior to bottling. This also frees up our barrels, so that Dave can prep them to barrel down the following year’s vintage (in this video, filmed in August 2018, we were getting ready for the 2018 harvest).

Anyway, as Dave and Erica prep to get down to it ahead of our FIRST EVER full production run in our new production facility (and during which we will be making our FIRST EVER Estate Pinot Noir), we thought it might be fun to share this video.

By the way, if you’d like to volunteer to help us sort grapes this fall, please give us a call at 503-537-1328 or drop us an email at info@bellsupwinery.com and we will be glad to add you to the call list.
