Winery Reflections Feature Calls Bells Up “A Small but Formidable Producer”

Late last summer we were delighted to finally meet the dynamic husband-and-wife duo behind Winery Reflections, Nathan and Courtney Marton (pictured above, in our vineyard) when we hosted them for a private tasting during their road trip through Oregon. Southern California-based oeno-academics and wine writers, the pair are prolific reviewers, having logged hundreds of thoughtful and comprehensive wine write-ups on their Instagram feed — including four of our wines: 2018 Prelude Estate Rosé of Pinot Noir, 2018 Rhapsody Pinot Blanc, 2016 Titan Pinot Noir, and 2015 Titan Pinot Noir.

Nathan and Courtney graciously showcased us as their Feature of the Week on their website a few days ago, sharing our story and writing the following:

“…Bells Up Winery has blossomed into a small but formidable producer, crafting around 500 cases of wine annually using fruit sourced from both their young estate vineyard and from a handful of other small vineyards in the area. The Specters admirably perform nearly every function of the winery themselves – with Dave serving as winemaker and Sara taking charge as the Chief Marketing Officer. Their bubbly, quirky, and delightfully sarcastic personalities shine brightly in everything they do, and their wines are as wonderful and unique as they are.

After previously getting the chance to try and write about some impressive Bells Up wine and hearing a bit of the story we knew we had to pay the winery a visit on our latest trip to the Willamette Valley. When we arrived and made our way into the facilities we were immediately greeted by Dave & Sara themselves as if we were old friends, and then the two graciously talked us through nearly every aspect of their boutique production. We walked through their winery facility and barrel room, which despite being modest in size were efficiently set up and immaculately maintained, and then headed out to the vineyard to see where the real magic happens…”

Additionally in the feature, they shared their impressions of our wines, including Helios Estate Seyval Blanc and Prelude Estate Rosé of PInot Noir, as well as our Pinot Noir lineup and still-in-barrel (at the time) 2018 Firebird Syrah. Click here to read the full article.

Thank you Courtney and Nathan! We look forward to shipping you more samples soon, and to hosting you again in the future.
